Learn to Play and U12 Flames
Ice hockey is an exciting game that combines skill, fitness and teamwork. The Flames welcomes all players new and returning to the 2025 Season. It is going to be a great season with lots of training sessions, games and tournaments.
The season commences at the beginning of May and runs through until mid-August.
U12 Age for Southern Ice Hockey League and Nationals Tournaments
Children born 2014 and earlier. To be eligible to play in tournaments the player must have his/her 11th birthday within the year of competition or later. Dispensations may be granted for children new to ice hockey or who do not yet have the skills to play in their correct age group grade. Please talk to club to discuss further.

Cost
$235.00 per child - Includes
- Training sessions on Monday's and Wednesday's
- Sunday morning specialist clinics - e.g. goalie training
- Super League Games on a Saturday 10:45-11:30 or Junior FIHL 11:30-1:15
- Hire of all gear including helmet, stick, skates and protective gear
- Ice time for Southern Ice Hockey League Tournaments
- Associate Fees for New Zealand Ice Hickey Federation and Southern Ice Hockey League
You will also require an Iceinline Pass to enable you to enter the rink. The Iceinline Pass can be purchased as
- Hockey Pass ONLY - unlimited Flames Ice Hockey training sessions, games and specialist clinics $160.00
- Family Pass - Unlimited ice hickey, skating and public sessions at Iceinline (Max 2 adults and 3 school age children) $450.00

2025 Saturday Super League

During the season on most Saturday's we play in a "Super League", with players assigned to a superhero-themed team with jerseys to match. Super League offers children the ability to learn or extend their ice hockey skills and game play with the emphasis on fun. Games are cross ice, 3 on 3 format.
2025 Southern Ice Hockey League Tournaments
The Southern Ice Hockey League includes Queenstown, Dunedin, Mackenzie, Gore and Alexandra. During each tournament each club enters teams for a fun day of round robin tournament ice hockey. Games are cross ice, 3 on 3 format and provide competition hockey at a fun and supportive level.
